Lauren Drain Early Life
Steve Drain first encountered Westboro when he was making a critical documentary about the church. Later, he and his whole family became part of the church. Lauren Drain joined in 2001 but was kicked out in 2007 for questioning the church’s beliefs and talking to a man from Connecticut who wanted to know more about the church. After leaving, she lived alone in Topeka for a bit but felt lonely and decided to move to Connecticut. Her parents, sisters, and brother stayed with the church and broke ties with her. Around 2020, her parents and two younger siblings were also kicked out of the church for reasons unknown. However, a video in 2023 showed that they have reconnected with her.
Lauren Drain finished high school in Topeka, Kansas and got a scholarship to Washburn University.
